Stung by a jellyfish on Platja de Ponent: what should I do before coming in?
Get out of the water calmly, rinse the area with seawater and lift off any tentacle remains with tweezers, never bare hands. Apply something cold wrapped in a cloth for 10 to 15 minutes. Don't use fresh water, vinegar or alcohol. If breathing gets difficult, call 112. Otherwise come in: we're on the same seafront.
Can I ask whether you have a medicine before I come?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +34 607 19 30 59 or call +34 977 38 12 64 and we'll tell you whether we have it; we reply during opening hours. For a prescription medicine, bring the prescription in person: a photo helps us identify it but is not valid for dispensing.
Can you put something aside for me to collect after the beach?
Yes. Request it on the reserve page or by WhatsApp, choose when you'll come by, and we'll confirm on WhatsApp whether it will be ready. Nothing is paid in advance: you pay at the counter when you collect. It isn't reserved until we confirm.
Who will serve me, and in which language?
We serve you at the counter in English, Spanish, Catalan or French. This website is also in Dutch and German, but nobody at the counter speaks those two. We'll tell you whether what you're asking for will do the job or whether you need to see a doctor.
I've brought a prescription from home: can you dispense it?
From Ireland or another EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway, usually yes: bring the original and photo ID. Narcotics and psychotropic medicines are excluded, and you pay the full price. A UK prescription is generally not valid in Spain, because the UK is outside the EU; we'll help you find an alternative or a doctor here.
How do I walk here from Vilafortuny or from the town centre?
From the centre of Salou it's a 5 minute walk west, towards Platja de Ponent. From Vilafortuny, follow the coast towards Salou until you reach Platja de Ponent. Our door is at Passeig de Miramar, 72, facing the beach.
Where do I go when you're closed?
To Salou's duty pharmacy, which changes every day. Our duty page shows which one is open today and its address; it's also on the poster at our door and on 012. In Spain, one pharmacy per area covers nights, Sundays and holidays on a rota. In an emergency, call 112.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 13:30 and from 16:30 to 20:00, and Saturday from 09:00 to 13:30, all year round, summer included. We're closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays except when the duty shift falls to us; on public holidays the official duty rota applies.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Cash, credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Maestro), contactless, and mobile payment with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Reservations work the same way: you pay at the counter when you collect, never online.
