No. A UK prescription cannot be used to dispense a medicine that needs a prescription in Spain, because Spanish law only recognises prescriptions issued in other EU member states. With a UK GHIC, a doctor at Salou's primary care centre can write you a Spanish prescription, which we dispense here.

Yes: these are medicines that need a prescription in Spain. Prescriptions from other EU countries are valid if they include the details required by the EU Directive. Narcotic and psychotropic medicines cannot be dispensed on a foreign prescription.
If the prescription is complete and we have the medicine, a few minutes. If we have to order it or find an equivalent, we tell you when it will be ready.
With a prescription from another country you pay the full price of the medicine in Spain: the Spanish public subsidy does not apply. Keep the receipt to claim a refund at home if your insurance covers it. Ask us the amount before we dispense it.

The route that does work is simple: with a European health card or a UK GHIC you can go to Salou's primary care centre on Carrer del Carrilet, open every day around the clock, and the doctor writes a Spanish prescription that we dispense here. Anything that needs no prescription we hand over with no formalities at all.

It depends on the country. The Spanish health ministry map, linked at the foot of this page, shows Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Slovakia as connected, with Catalonia among the connected regions. Others, France, Germany, Italy and Ireland among them, are still testing: their electronic prescription cannot be looked up here yet, though their paper prescription is valid if it carries the required details. Message us on WhatsApp with your country before you come and we confirm.
